About Captain Eric

I grew up in Lake Arrowhead, being exposed at a young age to boating for wakeboarding and water-skiing purposes. My grandfather, who sailed avidly, would participate in the renowned Chicago to Mackinac Island sailboat race and had plans of sailing around the world. Unfortunately, he passed prior to living out this dream.

After high school, I moved to San Diego for college, the stories of my grandfather were in-grained into my mind, so I decided that I would follow his sailing path and began crewing for several racing sailboats for beer can race and regattas, wherever I could obtain experience.

Eventually, I knew that this was life for me, so I decided that I wanted to have my own sailboat to live aboard. I purchased a 34' Columbia MKII sailboat and lived aboard for several years, sailing up and down the southern California coast, obtaining a vast knowledge and experience of solo sailing and cruising. Post of 7 years of owning a sailboat, I decided I wanted to gain experience aboard a larger vessel, so I decided to purchase a 40' Trojan power yacht to cruise in luxury.

Through my years of experience and sea time, I have obtained my merchant mariner credential master of up to 100 GRT. I have now begun to charter my Trojan power yacht named Moonlight Lady and have found it to be very gratifying to share my passion for being out on the water with others.
